Margaret is getting steadier every week
From James, her trainer: "Margaret now stands without using her arms. Next month we're aiming for the Friday garden walk."
1-2-1 personal training & active wellbeing
We bring friendly, specialist personal trainers into care homes, assisted living and supported living across the UK, for older adults and people living with disabilities.
Who we are
Care in Motion gives every resident their own personal trainer, a plan built around them, and progress everyone can see.
Staying strong, steady and independent for longer, whatever their starting point.
Adapted sessions for physical, learning, sensory and neurological disabilities, at any age.
A fully managed service for staff, and real peace of mind for the people who love them.
The science bit
Research is clear: muscle and bone fade when we stop moving, and they respond to training at any age. Regular, guided strength work sets people up to stay healthy, keep their muscle mass, and protect their bone density.
Adults lose muscle mass each decade from their 30s onwards, and the loss speeds up after 60.
Healthy older adults lost about 1 kg of leg muscle in just 10 days of bed rest.
Care home residents aged 86 to 96 nearly tripled their leg strength after 8 weeks of strength training.
and it's not just muscle…
Supervised resistance training has been shown to improve bone density in women with low bone mass. That's why UK guidance recommends strength and balance activities at least two days a week for older adults.
How it works
Three friendly steps, from the first hello to a monthly update in your inbox.
We come on board with your home and meet the selected residents. We look at their situation, care records and any health issues.
a cuppa & a chat
